Dillon Huang CAS MPAA
Dillon Huang studied at the Canton Art College in the Republic of China and the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, Alberta. After a career of teaching art in China, he immigrated to Calgary in 1982. Much of his painting is done outdoors, on location (en plein aire). His work is fresh, dramatic and unrestrained.
In 1988, he was commissioned to design five Winter Olympic posters for Calgary. In 1998, his painting "The Eagle of the Rockies" was selected to be published in "The Encyclopedia of World Famous Chinese Artists". In 1999, he won the Award of Excellence in the Forte Cup Twentieth Century Asian Art Competition. This award winning show is part of a permanent display at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Dillon now lives in Calgary and has pieces in many private and corporate collections.
