Jeanette Jarville BFA
Jeanette Jarville's work shows us a pictorial world in which the figure and abstraction meld through the expressive power of colour. She has created her own language which goes beyond stylistic constraints and captures her intense spirit and boldness. Herpaintings point out the versatility of an artist who moves from still-life, floral, landscapes and figures without compromising her identity. Jeanettehas developed a distinctive way of painting and use of color thatshe explores within her own unique style.
Born in Vancouver, Jeanette had a natural talent in art making and began oil painting by the age of 11. She spent much of her youth experimenting with different mediums and objects within her painting and sculptural work and enjoyed incorporating new and unusual methods with that of more traditional ways.
Graduating High School with Honors and an art scholarship she was then accepted into Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. She was awarded four scholarships while there and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, majoring in Studio, in 1996. She also took the opportunity to study Art History and Sculpting in Berlin, Germany, spending one year in Europe. Jeanette wasinfluenced by the abundance of Old Masters works and the history within the landscape.
Recently Jeanette has been focusing on painting on glass, a unique reverse process. The reflection of light coming from the paintings create a luminescent and powerful effect. She says her paintings have alife of their own, her work comes from within, and she is constantly being driven to create.
