Sara Genn was born in White Rock, British Columbia in 1972. She attended York House School in Vancouver and graduated with the Art Prize and Provincial Art Scholarship. In June 1994 Sara graduated from Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Sara is the daughter of Canadian artist Robert Genn. Together with her dad they completed the second and final leg of the MacKenzie River trip starting on July 11, 2001.
Sara works mainly acrylic on canvas, but has also worked in oil, pastel, watercolour and print media. She started exhibiting her work in her second year of university and has since exhibited in Western Canada and won collectors in North America, Asia and Europe. Sara is currently represented in Canada in the following cities: Banff, Whistler, Calgary and Regina, as well as White Rock, Vancouver, and Kelowna.
2012 was a milestone for Sara as she was celebrating her twentieth year as a professional artist selling in galleries. She is presently living in New York and has a studio in Soho. She now has three galleries in the United States. Her work is on display in New York, the Hamptons and California. Always searching for new frames of reference and ways to express herself, Sara is one artist that challenges and satisfies her many clients with good natured thoughts and images.
